about
«Breakfast in Bed» is the first single from Soybomb's forthcoming EP, «Sauvage».
After waving goodbye to the snow-capped mountains of Switzerland to settle in Berlin in 2018, Soybomb have crafted a deeply harmonic sound that builds on layered vocal harmonies, angular guitar, rich synth textures, and subtle grooves.
With tongue-in-cheek charm that borders on the self-deprecating, Soybomb take you to an imaginative world inspired by post-industrial cities, ice cream, Swiss folklore, slightly clashing colours, and the passage of time.
Distilling the band's signature nostalgic yet optimistic tone, «Breakfast in Bed» brims with tender naivety, goodwill, and humour.
lyrics
//LYRICS
Today was lovely
The pleasantries, the whipping cream
All friends’ve gathered
A pat on the back for self-esteem
Oh what a feeling
To take a part in someone’s team
Instead of reeling
Helplessly
So take me to a dining room
Let innocence unfold
The fish tank and the tapestry
Put conciousness on hold
It’s such a fine lowly place
A good decision
An argument about this and that
A common vision
The weather and the thermostat
Now I’m just listening
Lighting up a cigarette
The usual order
Familiar
So take me to a dining room
Let innocence unfold
The fish tank and the tapestry
Put conciousness on hold
It’s such a fine lowly place
Don’t you know how many among my buddies would tell you so
Better than ever better than breakfast in bed on your own
Soak yourself into the odours of the bosporus bazaar
Sweeter than honey sweeter than sucking on a carambar
